Dr. Batien is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in trauma, anxiety, adjustment problems, depression, insomnia, and problem-solving skills. He is one of only four psychologists in Central Florida who is board certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy through the American Board of Professional Psychologists (ABPP). Dr. Batien earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Dakota and completed his predoctoral internship at the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center. With over a decade of experience serving veterans and civilians alike, Dr. Batien specializes in evidence-based approaches to help individuals navigate life’s challenges and build resilience. Dr. Batien utilizes a variety of short-term Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT) including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) for trauma, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), and Problem-Solving Therapy (PST) to help clients overcome obstacles and improve their well-being. He is passionate about empowering individuals to take control of their mental health so they can live their life to the fullest.

Dr. Carper is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized expertise in the areas of anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, OCD, and pain management. She earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University and her Master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Central Florida, where she currently holds an appointment at the College of Medicine. She completed her predoctoral internship at VA Boston Medical Center/Harvard Medical School/Boston University School of Medicine (the Boston Consortium in Clinical Psychology). Dr. Carper then completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at VA Boston Medical Center/Boston University School of Medicine. During both internship and fellowship, Dr. Carper received intensive training in state-of-the-art interventions for a range of psychological difficulties and engaged in research activities through the National Center for PTSD. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Carper has published and presented nationally on topics related to anxiety, trauma, OCD, and the provision of psychotherapy via telehealth. Dr Carper is active in a number of psychology organizations.
Dr. Carper has advanced training and/or certification in a number of evidence-based psychotherapies, to include Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure therapy for trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for anxiety and depression, Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD, CBT for chronic pain, and motivational interviewing for substance abuse. She aims to provide a safe and supportive space that fosters growth and emotional well-being and is deeply committed to guiding her clients towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
